Job summary

Central York School District is seeking dedicated Lifeguards to support the daily operation of our aquatics program at Central York High School, York, PA. You will help keep swimmers safe, enforce policies, and provide a welcoming environment.

The role requires attention to safety, ability to respond to emergencies, and adherence to training standards such as Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR. Flexible schedule supports school commitments and community service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training required.
• American Red Cross First Aid & CPR for the Professional Rescuer required.
• Background checks (PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, FBI) within last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Enforce facility policies, rules and regulations.
• Respond to emergencies; thirty second scan mandatory.
• Inspect the facility daily and report unsafe conditions/equipment.
• Complete records and reports.
• Attend all in-service training as required.
• Maintain work hours and obtain substitute when unable to work.
• Wear issued uniform and maintain professional appearance.
• Keep all certifications current.
• Complete 500 yards every 2 weeks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility patrons by preventing and responding to any and all emergencies.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Enforce all facility policies, rules, and regulations.
• Recognize and responds effectively to emergencies. Thirty second scan mandatory.
• Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and reports unsafe conditions and equipment to supervisor.
• Complete appropriate records and reports.
• Attend and participates in all in-service training as a requirement of employment.
• Responsible for work hours. Must obtain a substitute when unable to work.
• Wear only issued uniform and maintain a professional appearance.
• Keep all certifications current.
• Complete 500 yards every 2 weeks
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age

• American Red Cross First Aid & CPR for the Professional Rescuer
• Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks within the last twelve (12) months.
