Job summary

Life Time, Inc. in Fremont, CA is seeking an Aquatics Lifeguard who is safety minded and customer service oriented. You will supervise state-of-the-art pools, monitor decks, and assist with events such as Dive in Movies and Poolapalooza.

You must pursue a High School Diploma or GED and hold StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid certifications. You should be able to swim 300 yards, tread water for 1 minute, and lift 20 lbs as needed.

• Greet and interact with Members to provide friendly service.
• Rescue swimmers in danger and administer first aid as needed.
• Ensure awareness of potentially dangerous areas and enforce safety rules.
• Keep the pool area clean and orderly to maintain safety.

Job description

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Lifeguard, you must be safety minded and customer service oriented. You will work in a fast-paced environment and will help to oversee state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoor and out. You will monitor the pool deck and maintain safety on water slides. You will help with aquatics events, such as "Dive in Movies" & "Poolapalooza".

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with Members
• Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid
• Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities
• Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members

Position Requirements

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1 st year, whichever is first)
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to tread water for 1 minute
• Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping
• Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs

Preferred Requirements

• 6 months of customer service experience

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $15.00 and pays up to $18.75, based on experience and qualifications.
