The Position:
The Lead Instructor/Trainer’s number one priority is on teaching children and adults, coaching, and training the aquatics program at British Swim School. They ensure that all instructors are knowledgeable and confident on teaching the lessons, and able to be in the water as required themselves. This position may also assist with tracking required certifications for instructors as well as continuing the employee's development and competency and skills.

Your Typical Responsibilities:
  • Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students’ parents and/or guardians.
  • Teach British Swim School lessons with encouragement and positive reinforcement.
  • Teach and train new instructors on the British Swim School aquatics program.
  • Maintain certifications throughout employment.
  • Work late afternoon/evening and weekend hours as determined by business needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Be able to work Tue/Thu (4-8 pm) and Sat (9am-2pm)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to instruct swimming lessons within a structured program.
  • Willing to undergo a background check.
  • Reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comfortable in and around the water. Previous swimming experience.
  • Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred; will provide training.
  • Experience working with children.
