Job summary

The Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur, MO seeks a dedicated Swim Instructor to teach group and individual lessons, and lead aquatics classes while ensuring a safe, engaging experience for all participants.

You will start/end classes on time, provide weekly progress updates to parents, and maintain accurate records. ARC lifeguard/First Aid or ARC Waterpark lifeguard/First Aid certification is required, with strong rescue and emergency response skills.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain current certification in ARC Lifeguarding and First Aid or ARC Waterpark Lifeguarding and First Aid.
• Ability to swim continuously and meet lifeguard standards.
• CPR, AED and First Aid procedures must be performable during emergencies.
• Maintain constant surveillance and respond immediately to emergencies.
• Lift, carry and assist with heavier loads when needed; stay fit for duties.
• Flexible schedule to open/close pools; work across locations.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons (group/individual) and aquatics exercise classes.
• Start and end classes on time; provide weekly progress updates to parents.
• Complete required records (timesheets, accident reports, rosters) on time.
• Maintain a neat pool deck and aquatics office; enforce J policies.
• Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings; promote aquatics programs.
• Foster a welcoming environment and engage with members.
• Keep up with programming and equipment; assist in addressing customer needs.
• Perform duties as requested by supervisor.
