Job summary

The Jewish Community Center is seeking a motivated swim instructor to lead group and private lessons, ensuring safety and engagement for all participants. You will deliver high-quality classes, maintain records, and work across locations with a focus on customer service and member satisfaction.

Ideal candidates hold ARC lifeguard and first aid credentials, CPR/AED, and strong swimming skills. The role requires punctuality, flexibility to open/close pools, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must hold current ARC Lifeguarding and First Aid or ARC Waterpark Lifeguarding and First Aid.
• Ability to swim continuously and perform rescues.
• CPR/AED and First Aid proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons (group/individual) and aquatics classes.
• Start and end classes on time.
• Provide weekly progress updates to parents.
• Complete required records and reports (timesheets, incident reports, rosters).
• Maintain a neat pool deck and aquatics office.
• Learn and enforce all J policies and procedures.
• Be punctual and maintain good attendance.
• Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings.
• Maintain swimming skills, fitness, and endurance.
• Foster a welcoming environment for members.
• Learn J programming and equipment to meet needs.
• Promote aquatics and other J programs.
• Develop aquatics knowledge through J trainings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
