In this position, you will lead water-based fitness classes for a diverse group of participants, ensuring an engaging and safe workout experience. Whether you have a current Water Fitness Certification or are looking to get certified, we welcome your passion for fitness and ability to motivate others.
What You Will Do
- Lead water fitness classes for participants of all ages and fitness levels.
- Develop and deliver creative and engaging class plans.
- Monitor participants to ensure proper form and safety during exercises.
- Provide modifications for participants with varying abilities.
- Ensure a positive, supportive environment for all class attendees.
- Maintain communication with the Aquatics Coordinator regarding class attendance, feedback, and any equipment needs.
- Assist with setting up and taking down any necessary equipment.
What We Are Looking For
Required (without certification):
- Previous experience in teaching fitness classes, or a strong passion for fitness with the ability to lead and motivate others.
- Comfortable working in a pool setting and leading fitness classes in water.
Preferred (with certification):
- Current Water Fitness Certification (can be obtained after hiring if not already certified).
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required).
Schedule
- 1.5 hours per day
- 1.5-3 hours per week
- Wednesdays in summer, possible Tues/Thurs during school year
Salary
- $24/hour without a water fitness certification
- $30/hour with a current water fitness certification
