Job summary

Lorain County Metro Parks is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to perform building and grounds repair, lawn care, custodial tasks, and aquatic operations at Amherst HealthPlex. Responsibilities include pool filtration maintenance, minor repairs, equipment care, safety compliance, and assisting with seasonal projects.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, over one year of park-related experience (or equivalent), and the ability to operate heavy machinery and pass a respirator

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary education (high school or GED) and over one year’s park or related field experience.
• Knowledge of pool maintenance and chemical handling beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret sketches or diagrams for repairs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain Amherst HealthPlex facilities and grounds, including pools and locker rooms.
• Perform landscaping, mowing, planting, watering, and pruning tasks.
• Repair and paint furniture and equipment; perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Operate vehicles and heavy machinery; assist with safety and inspections.
