YMCA of the Jersey Shore is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator in Freehold, NJ to lead the swim lesson program for children and adults. You will plan, deliver, and manage lessons using the YMCA Swim Lessons Curriculum and act as the primary contact for families and participants.

You will schedule classes, oversee aquatics staff, and ensure safety policies are followed while coordinating with the Aquatics Director to meet revenue and budget goals.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Current American Red Cross lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED and oxygen administration certifications.
• YMCA Swim Lesson V.6 Instructor Certification within 90 days of employment.
• Online Child Abuse Prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens and Unlawful Harassment Prevention training within 30 days.
• Online Safe Lifting and Slips, Trip and Fall Training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

# Aquatics Coordinator (Full Time)FREEHOLD, NJ 07728## OverviewSalary Range$20.00 - $23.00 Hourly## DescriptionUnder the direct supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for the YMCA swim lesson program. The primary responsibilities of this position include planning and delivering a program which brings the joy of swimming to children and adults using the YMCA Swim Lessons Curriculum while providing direct service as an instructor. The Aquatics Coordinator will be the principal contact for parents and participants for the YMCA swim lessons and aquatics certification programs. The coordinator will create the lesson schedule, deliver and manage swim lessons programs in the YMCA's CRM database (Daxko) conduct in-service trainings. Enthusiastically represents The YMCA of the Jersey Shore by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job through the four character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.* Provides leadership and support to YMCA aquatics programming by implementing private, group lessons and certification courses which drives an increase in participant enrollment resulting in attaining revenue and budget goals as set by the Executive Director.* Appropriately mentors aquatic staff including lifeguards and swim instructors through effective onboarding and training for new employees.* Instructs swimming lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines.* Cooperatively supports the Aquatics Director by developing schedules, overseeing guards, ensuring all safety and risk prevention policies are followed.* Assists the Aquatics Director with maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, on deck and surrounding areas. Prevents accidents by maintaining observation of the pool area, enforcing health and safety rules and maintaining emergency readiness.* Assists with record maintenance. Monitors daily chemical readings in pools and on chemical systems. Performs daily check on systems in pump rooms. Reports when chemical levels out of range or any found issues in pump room.* Develops positive relationships with participants and parents encouraging involvement and identifying potential volunteers.* Assists as needed with pool administration including the creation of the Swim Lessons, Private Swim Lessons, Master's Program and the Swim Instructor schedules.* Attends and leads staff meetings, and trainings as required.* Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Responds to emergency situations as needed. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.* Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Keeping areas safe.
