Goldfish Swim School in New York seeks an energetic Assistant General Manager - Aquatics to lead daily lesson flow, develop instructors and deck supervisors, and uphold safety and guest experience.

The role requires 1–2 years in aquatics, coaching, comfort with digital tools, and evening/weekend availability; Lifeguard certification will be pursued if needed.

You will report to the General Manager and serve as Manager on Duty, ensuring all areas run to Goldfish standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of aquatics or youth programming experience.
• Strong coaching and feedback skills.
• Comfort with digital tools and quick system adoption.
• Safety-first mindset with calm leadership under pressure.
• Must obtain Lifeguard Certification if not already.
• Evening and weekend availability.

Responsabilités

• Keep lessons running on time, on brand, and at highest quality each shift.
• Coach instructors on skill evaluation for move-up decisions.
• Use attendance and data to spot problems and adjust.
• Review performance trends and align expectations with staff.
• Guide new hires from first day through training.
• Conduct formal evaluations and advise on staffing decisions.
• Maintain staff certifications and records.
• Plan and lead skill-based events and swim meets.
• Own the safety culture on the pool deck.
• Oversee the Emergency Action Plan and train staff.
• Manage coverage and staffing during call-outs.
• Serve as Manager on Duty across aquatics, front desk and facilities.
