Job summary

Easterseals Florida is seeking a Float4Life Instructor to deliver life-saving drowning prevention through one-on-one float lessons at indoor and outdoor pools. This part-time role (25 hours/week) focuses on children, including those with special needs, using personalized, evidence-based techniques.

You will manage a caseload, track milestones, coordinate with families, maintain pool safety, and use iPads and documentation systems to record services.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification required.
• Experience with young children, including those with special needs.
• Ability to lift and carry children up to 50 pounds in a pool setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication for documenting progress.
• Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Float4Life Certification or willingness to obtain after hire.
• Previous aquatic instruction or therapy experience.

• Deliver personalized Float4Life instruction using evidence-based techniques.
• Manage a caseload of clients, including scheduling and service coordination.
• Track progress and document milestones after each lesson.
• Collaborate with families to support water safety and skill development.

• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and assist with program needs.
• Work actively in the water for extended periods (up to 5 hours).

• Use tools such as iPads, computers, and documentation systems to record services
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all privacy standards
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and assist with program needs as assigned
• Work actively in the water for extended periods (up to 5 hours), supporting and physically assisting children during instruction

Qualifications:

• CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (required)
• Experience working with young children, including those with special needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder)
• Ability to lift and carry children up to 50 pounds and safely move in a pool environment (kneeling, crouching, reaching)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting client progress and communicating with families
• Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation
• Float4Life Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire)
• Previous aquatic instruction or therapy experience
