Job summary

City of Savannah seeks an Aquatics Maintenance Crew Chief to oversee the maintenance of city pools, splash pads, and drinking fountains. You will work under the Aquatics Supervisor to ensure safe, reliable operation of all aquatic facilities.

You will supervise maintenance staff, perform preventive maintenance, monitor water quality, and maintain accurate records. AFO/CPO certification is preferred, with six months to obtain if not already held. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; two years of mechanical maintenance or related field experience preferred.
• AFO or CPO certification is preferred but not required at hire; must obtain within six months if not certified.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains pool recirculation and filtration systems, chemical feeding systems, pumps, valves, and related equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance and inspections of aquatic facilities and supporting systems.
• Tests and monitors pool water chemistry and assists in maintaining water quality per procedures.
• Coordinates work, assigns tasks, monitors progress, inspects completed work, and provides technical guidance to staff.
• Maintains maintenance logs, inspection records, chemical readings, and other required documentation.
• Ensures safety procedures, tool/equipment care, and clean, organized work areas.
