Summary of Job Duties: The Advanced Practice Nurse/PA will assist physicians with clinic visits, organize visits, perform clinic procedures, assess patients, triage for PT and interventional pain, prepare patients for surgeon visits, assist in the operating room, answer pages, and round on post-operative patients. Responsibilities include managing outpatient post-op care, answering inquiries, filling prescriptions, and providing urgent care coverage, including after-hours care. The APP must have high-level assessment, diagnosis, and treatment skills.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
  • 2 years of nursing or PA experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas with APRN license or Physician's Assistant certification (or eligibility), certified by NCCPA
  • Ability to operate typical nursing equipment
  • Normal communication sensory requirements
  • Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions
  • Current BLS certification or must obtain within 30 days

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nursing experience in Neurosurgery or Orthopedics
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA license (post-hire)

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Extend patient care and administrative services
  • Provide health assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and manage health issues in collaboration with physicians
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively, serve as a resource and advocate
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care
  • Other duties as assigned
