Job summary

Zel Technologies is seeking an Apps Platform Support/Systems Administrator in Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves supporting, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise applications and platforms to ensure stability, security, and performance across city systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with application administration, platform support, system integrations, and troubleshooting within a multi‑department environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; OR 6 or more years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3–5+ years of experience in systems administration, application support, or platform management.
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, system integrations, and platform architecture.
• Experience with troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and system maintenance.
• Familiarity with IT service management principles and ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise applications and platforms used across city departments.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Troubleshoot application and platform issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and coordinate resolution efforts.
• Support system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and integrations in collaboration with IT teams and vendors.
• Maintain documentation including system configurations, workflows, procedures, and support guides.
• Assist with user access management, permissions, and security controls in accordance with city policies.
• Provide technical support to end users, department staff, and project teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into system or platform requirements.
• Ensure compliance with municipal standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and state regulations.
• Support data integrity, reporting needs, and system monitoring activities.
