Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; OR 4 or more years of relevant experience.
• 2–5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or technical analysis.
• Strong understanding of hardware, software, networking fundamentals, and enterprise applications.
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues and supporting end users.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with IT service management principles and ticketing systems.
• Commitment to customer service and public‑sector values.
• Successful background and drug screening check.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for city systems, applications, and end-user technologies.
• Analyze system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend enhancements aligned with city standards.
• Assist with the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of hardware, software, and enterprise applications.
• Support system upgrades, patches, and integrations in coordination with IT teams and vendors.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and technical workflows in accordance with city guidelines.
• Monitor system availability, security, and performance to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Collaborate with city departments to understand operational needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Assist with data analysis, reporting, and information management tasks.
• Participate in IT projects, including planning, testing, implementation, and user training.

Job Summary

• Must be a US citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; OR 4 or more years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience working in local government or public‑sector IT environments.
• Knowledge of municipal systems such as ERP platforms, permitting systems, asset management tools, or public safety applications.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, virtualization, or cybersecurity tools.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, ITIL, Microsoft, or similar.
• Experience supporting modernization, cloud migration, or digital transformation initiatives.
