Job summary

Summary

This position is primarily responsible for assisting and supporting commercial Property and Casualty (P&C) customer service staff (i.e. Account Executives, Senior Account Managers and Account Managers) by processing customer account routine service items, assisting customers, providing senior customer service staff time to focus on more complex and/or urgent service items, including working directly with customers on a daily basis by performing the following duties. This position is also a part of a brokerage apprenticeship program, a paid role that combines on-the-job learning with required education and training. As part of the role, the apprentice will work toward an associate’s degree and complete an industry designation (e.g., PEBC, PRC) while building foundational skills in Property & Casualty.

Responsibilities

• Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Maintain satisfactory progress and meet program participation requirements throughout the apprenticeship term, which includes active enrollment and participation in college coursework toward an associate degree and applicable industry designation coursework and testing.
• Works with customer service staff, orders policy endorsements from carriers/markets; diary for receipt of endorsements; and confirms accuracy of endorsements.
• Follows up with carriers/markets as needed for corrections; posts confirmed or corrected endorsements in agency/document management systems and sends customer copy to customers.
• Checks issued policies for accuracy, follows up with carriers/markets as needed for corrections; posts confirmed or corrected policies in agency/document management systems for customer service staff to handle.
• Checks audits for accuracy of coverage rates and exposure basis data, diary for receipt of policy final audits for expired policies; follows up with customer service staff to verify exposure data differences and carriers/markets to verify coverage rates.
• Processes Certificate of Insurance requests for customer service staff on a daily basis.
• Downloads policies and endorsements from carrier websites as needed.
• Inputs policy coverage data and/or policy files in agency management system.

Requirements
