Apprenticeship Pathways and Curriculum Program Specialist 3 (Grant Funded)

South Seattle College's Georgetown Campus is looking to hire a Grant Funded Apprenticeship Pathways and Curriculum Program Specialist 3.

Salary Range for this position is OFM Range 53 ($62,748 - $80-436). The range typically offered to candidates for this position is $69,372 (E)- $74,688 (H).

Background

TheGeorgetown Campus of South Seattle Collegeis Washington State's largest apprenticeshiptraininginstitution. Serving over 3,000 apprentices and students earning everything from short-term certificates and industry-recognized credentials to Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees, the Georgetown campus is known as the area's premier workforce education and training center.

With classes on evenings and weekends, and new courses starting throughout the quarter, the campus serves adult learners by meeting their needs and fitting their schedules. Because of the hands-on nature of Georgetown, nearly all classes take place on site, drawing students to specialized workforce training that prepares people for the trades, including construction, manufacturing, and sustainable building science.

Overview

Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Apprenticeship, the Apprenticeship Pathways and Curriculum Program Specialist 3 coordinates curriculum documentation, program improvement initiatives, and pathway development efforts supporting South Seattle College's apprenticeship programs at the Georgetown Campus.

This position provides specialized program coordination and technical support to ensure apprenticeship curriculum documentation aligns with Washington State apprenticeship requirements, higher education governance standards, accreditation expectations, and institutional processes. The position supports the completion and maintenance of curriculum records across multiple apprenticeship occupations, coordinates curriculum integration into college systems, and assists with strategic initiatives that expand postsecondary educational pathways for apprentices.

The Program Specialist 3 will support the implementation curriculum documentation completion, embedded general education pathway exploration through the Multi-Occupational Trades (MOT) AAS-T degree, and coordination with internal departments and external higher education partners regarding articulation opportunities.

This position serves as a liaison among apprenticeship partners, faculty, academic departments, college administrators, and external institutions to support program alignment, documentation accuracy, and continuous improvement efforts.

This position requires regular in-person collaboration with faculty, apprenticeship partners, and campus stakeholders and is temporary, contingent upon grant funding and program needs.

This position is currently funded through June 30, 2027. Continuance after this date is contingent on business need and funding.

What you will be working on:
  • Apprenticeship Curriculum Documentation and Program Support
  • Coordinate the review, completion, and maintenance of apprenticeship curriculum documentation across Georgetown Campus apprenticeship programs.
  • Support documentation efforts for existing and newly developed apprenticeship occupations, ensuring alignment with apprenticeship standards, college curriculum processes, and accreditation requirements.
  • Review curriculum documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with state and institutional requirements.
  • Coordinate updates and implementation of curriculum documentation within college systems, including curriculum management, course catalog, and registration systems.
  • Maintain organized records, tracking tools, and documentation to support compliance, reporting, and institutional accountability.
  • Curriculum Pathway and Degree Integration Support
  • Support initiatives connecting apprenticeship training with postsecondary degree pathways, including the Multi-Occupational Trades (MOT) AAS-T degree.
  • Coordinate information gathering and documentation related to embedding general education coursework within apprenticeship programs.
  • Assist in identifying operational requirements, processes, and potential barriers related to embedded curriculum models.
  • Program Research, Analysis, and Reporting
  • Research and analyze curriculum requirements, apprenticeship standards, higher education policies, and pathway opportunities.
  • Compile program data, prepare reports, and develop documentation to support decision-making and grant-funded initiatives.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes associated with curriculum improvement efforts.
  • Identify potential issues, recommend solutions, and communicate progress to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Articulation and Partnership Coordination
  • Support coordination with bachelors degree institutions to explore articulation opportunities for apprenticeship completers.
  • Assist in preparing materials, documentation, and information needed to evaluate transfer pathway feasibility.
  • Coordinate meetings, capture action items, and support follow-up activities with internal and external partners.
  • Maintain records related to articulation discussions, agreements, and pathway development activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Technical Assistance
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for faculty, apprenticeship partners, academic departments, and college staff regarding program information and initiatives.
  • Facilitate meetings, gather feedback, and communicate project updates and requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance regarding curriculum processes, documentation standards, and institutional procedures.
  • Develop resources, templates, and guidance materials to support consistent curriculum practices.
What you bring as a candidate:
  • Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or educational program management, preferably in apprenticeship or vocational education.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in curriculum development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
