Job description

Are you highly organized, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and someone who doesn't wait to be told what needs to happen next? We're looking for a proactive Apprenticeship Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of a growing workforce development program supporting approximately 250 apprentices across the HVAC, pipefitting, and sheet metal trades.

This is an opportunity to make a real impact by helping apprentices build careers while keeping programs organized, compliant, and running smoothly. You'll work closely with executive leadership, contractors, educational institutions, and industry partners to strengthen apprenticeship programs and support continued growth.

Apprenticeship Program Manager Benefits and Compensation:
  • $25–$30 per hour, based on experience
  • Approximately $52,000–$62,400 annually
  • Full-time position with consistent weekday hours
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in skilled trades workforce development
  • Collaborative, small-team environment with direct access to leadership
  • Opportunity to take ownership of established programs and contribute to future growth
Apprenticeship Program Manager Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Experience in program coordination, administration, compliance, or operations management
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and electronic recordkeeping systems
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, documentation, and multiple priorities independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, persistent approach to follow-up
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, track program performance, and prepare compliance-related reports
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for required local travel to contractor sites, training locations, and industry events

Must Haves:

  • Maintain accurate apprenticeship records, including registrations, completions, transfers, suspensions, and terminations
  • Track on-the-job training (OJT) hours, classroom instruction (RTI), attendance, and apprentice progression
  • Maintain organized, audit‑ready documentation supporting U.S. Department of Labor registered apprenticeship requirements
  • Proactively follow up with contractors, apprentices, colleges, universities, government agencies, and training providers to obtain information and keep programs moving forward
  • Manage spreadsheets, electronic records, and reporting systems to monitor enrollment, participation, and program milestones
  • Coordinate apprenticeship committee meetings, contractor communications, workforce development events, and licensing documentation
  • Take ownership of outstanding tasks, identify potential problems, and follow through without constant supervision
Apprenticeship Program Manager Preferred Background & Skills:
  • Experience managing registered apprenticeship programs or workforce development initiatives
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of Labor apprenticeship standards and RAPIDS reporting
  • Experience working with skilled trades, contractors, educational institutions, or nonprofit organizations
  • Grant administration, grant reporting, or funding compliance experience
  • Familiarity with ChatGPT or other AI tools to improve administrative efficiency and organization
  • Experience supporting billing, invoicing, or general office operations
  • Ability to build relationships with community partners and identify opportunities for program growth

What Success Looks Like:

You'll keep apprenticeship records accurate and current, ensure contractors and apprentices receive timely communication, and maintain organized systems that support regulatory compliance. Most importantly, you'll anticipate needs, follow through on outstanding items, and help leadership focus on growing the program rather than chasing paperwork.
