Job summary

SpaceX in Texas is seeking an Apprentice Welder at our Texas Test Site to join the weld support team and perform hands-on welding tasks, plasma programming, and material handling. The role requires an associate degree or 2-year technical training and 2+ years of welding experience in FCAW/SMAW/GTAW/GMAW.

The apprentice will program plasma tables, read drawings, maintain licenses, and strive to improve operations. Travel to launches may be required; ITAR adherence is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 2-year technical school certification.
• 2+ years of welding experience in FCAW, SMAW, GTAW or GMAW.
• Experience with plasma table programming/operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program plasma table and operate band saws, chop saws, and manual drilling/milling.
• Analyze engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required.
• Improve operations to decrease turnaround times and streamline processes.
• Collaborate with leaders to complete assignments, meet deadlines, and review issues for improvement.
• Perform related duties to ensure an efficient and safe work environment.
