Job Overview

By‑Tor Contracting Inc. is seeking motivated Apprentice Millwork Installers to join our growing field operations team. This entry‑level role is designed for individuals looking to build a long‑term career in residential millwork and door installation. Apprentices will work directly alongside experienced Lead Installers, receiving hands‑on training with the goal of progressing into an independent installer role within approximately one year.

Through our partnership with Lowe’s, this position offers consistent, year‑round work and a clear path for advancement in a high‑demand trade.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Installers with residential interior and exterior door installations
• Learn proper measuring, cutting, fitting and finishing techniques
• Prepare and maintain tools, materials and work areas
• Protect customer homes and maintain clean, organized job sites
• Follow installation standards, safety procedures and company guidelines
• Communicate respectfully with homeowners and team members
• Travel to job sites as required (per diem provided when applicable)
• Demonstrate reliability, strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Qualifications

• Some hands‑on experience in construction, carpentry or home improvement preferred (but not required)
• Strong interest in learning a skilled trade and growing into an installer role
• Positive attitude and ability to take direction from Lead Installers
• Good communication and professionalism in customer‑facing environments
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and working on job sites
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred
• EPA Lead Certification a plus (training assistance provided if needed)

• Starting salary: $30,000 – $35,000 per year
