Job Brief

As a Mechanic Apprentice, you will be responsible for vehicle inspections, performing basic repairs and preventative maintenance, parts purchasing, inventory receipts, and assisting in inventory reconciliation.

Compensation

This position pays $19 - $22 per hour.

What You'll Do

As a Mechanic Apprentice, your responsibilities include vehicle inspections, basic repairs, preventative maintenance, parts purchasing, inventory receipts, and assisting in inventory reconciliation. You will work under the supervision of experienced mechanics to learn and develop your skills. Additional duties include:

• Understanding processes, strategies, methodologies, and production practices
• Establishing an in-depth understanding of the site's business cycle and vocabulary
• Learning how your duties impact the company's ability to deliver on its promises
• Working under the direct supervision of the lead mechanic and experienced team members
• Training in standard mechanic repairs and DOT BIT Inspections
• Learning repair techniques for brake systems, suspension, chassis, HVAC, and more
• Attending in-class and online training sessions to advance knowledge and certifications
• Performing daily vehicle inspections
• Providing engine and chassis services
• Maintaining an organized work area and shop
• Repairing and maintaining company vehicles for safety and reliability
• Keeping detailed vehicle maintenance records

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; mechanical or trade school is a plus
• No experience necessary; mechanical or construction background is a plus
• Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
• Basic knowledge of computers, email, and productivity software
• Willingness to undergo and pass an ATF background check
• Valid driver’s license
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team-oriented mindset
