Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an entry level Apprentice Lineman C to safely perform skilled electrical work in construction, repair, maintenance, storm restoration and operation of distribution systems. The role involves learning apprenticeship-type skills and advancing toward journeyman lineman.

Groundman supervision may occur occasionally. The position emphasizes safety, physical demands, and readiness to work irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in groundman and lineman work.
• Ability to travel at a moment's notice, anytime
• Available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays
• Possess at minimum a valid CDL-B license
• Possess your own tools
• Ability to handle physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather conditions
• Ability to read and follow instructions
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
• Ability to hear long distances
• Must be able to see long distances and differentiate between colors and have clear depth perception

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Adhere to safety practices and procedures.
• Climb poles or use truck-mounted buckets to access equipment and work at heights.
• Safely construct, maintain, and repair electrical overhead and underground distribution systems and substations.
• Drive vehicles equipped with tools and materials to job sites.
• String wire conductors and cables between poles and buildings.
• Dig holes and set poles using cranes and power equipment.
• Splice or solder cables and splices.
• Lay underground cables in trenches or conduits.
• Cut trenches for laying underground cables.
