Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an Apprentice Lineman B in Texas to join our crew. This semi-skilled role covers construction, repair, and maintenance of electrical overhead distribution systems, following standard trade practices.

The position involves climbing poles or bucket work, splicing cables, installing underground conduits, and ensuring safety and proper grounding while supporting substations and service lines.

Qualifications

• 2 1/2 years’ experience in groundman and lineman work.
• Must be able to travel on short notice, anytime.
• Available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays.
• Possess at minimum a valid CDL-B license.
• Possess your own tools.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to see long distances and color vision with depth perception.
• Able to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment and work at heights.
• Safely construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution systems and substations.
• Verify proper grounding and control traffic near work zones.
• Splice cables, lay underground cables, and set poles and related equipment.
• Dig holes and set poles using cranes and power equipment.
• Identify defective equipment with diagrams and testing instruments.
