Qualifications

• Minimum 2.5 years' experience in groundman and lineman work; lineman training school qualifies for experience.
• Able to travel at a moment's notice, anytime.
• Available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Possess a valid CDL-B license.
• Must live within one hour drive time of Marksville, LA.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs and work in harsh weather.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment and work at heights.
• Construct, maintain, and repair electrical overhead and underground distribution systems and substations.
• Verify proper grounding of equipment and safely control traffic around work zones.
• Read wiring diagrams and use electrical-testing instruments to locate faults.
• Drive vehicles with tools and materials to job sites.
• String conductors and cables, set lines, and adjust tension with winches.
• Splice or solder cables and perform related terminations.
• Dig, trench and lay underground cables as required.
• Keep unauthorized people away from work areas.
