The City of Fairburn is looking for an Apprentice Lineman to join their team. This full-time position involves installation and maintenance of electrical systems under supervision, providing essential training towards becoming a qualified Electric Lineman. The City of Fairburn is seeking to fill an Apprentice Lineman position. This role is part of the apprenticeship program and involves installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of overhead electrical lines, underground cables, electrical substations, and related equipment. It is a progressive training position aimed at developing a qualified Electric Lineman. The position reports to the Electric Superintendent.
Hiring Range: $22.89 Hourly
Work Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This position involves working under supervision in the installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of electrical distribution systems, including overhead and underground systems, substations, and related equipment. It serves as a training role towards becoming a qualified Electric Lineman.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, with at least one year of related experience and vocational electrical training, or equivalent.
Licenses or Certifications: Valid Class A or B CDL driver’s license required; ability to obtain Class A within one year.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of electrical utility systems, safety practices, first aid, and ability to operate tools and equipment safely. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
Physical Demands: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force, perform physically demanding tasks, and work in various environmental conditions.
Work Environment: Outdoor work with exposure to environmental hazards, requiring flexibility for emergency and unscheduled hours.
