Job Summary

The Electrical Apprentice is responsible for knowing and following appropriate safety procedures and for performing a variety of tasks within an industrial construction project environment.

Responsibilities / Competencies

• Perform miscellaneous tasks that require manually moving materials, tools, and equipment.
• Use hand tools and power tools, including wire pulling.
• Perform work area clean-up and safety‑related duties.
• Communicate with personnel concerning the initiation of maintenance and other job‑related instructions.
• Act as a spotter for equipment operators and other duties as assigned.
• Execute any other job‑related duties requested by the supervisor or designated representative.

Requirements

• Six months or more of experience in an industrial electrical construction environment.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and basic safety practices.
• Ability to pass a drug test as mandated by Saulsbury Industries and the Department of Transportation anti‑drug program.
• Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training and education.
• Attend safety meetings, specialty training, and various training classes as directed by management.
• Ability to take the necessary safety precautions while performing the work.

Physical Requirements

• Manual and finger dexterity; eye‑hand coordination; depth perception.
• Ability to see small detail and view objects beyond arm’s reach.

• Ability to climb 30‑foot ladders without resting.
• Ability to maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, reach above head while sitting or standing, and reach below knees while standing.
• Ability to stoop or kneel.
• Ability to work 60 or more hours each week.
• Ability to work at heights of a minimum of 20 ft.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Work Environment

Employees in this position must be able to perform under the following conditions: awkward or confining workspaces, high places, outdoor environment, noisy environment, dirty environment, air contamination (dust, fumes, etc.), and near or below freezing temperatures.
