Job summary

Team Fishel in Henrico, VA is hiring Apprentice Electric Lineworkers to join our hands-on training program. The role focuses on learning to build, maintain, and repair high voltage power systems under the guidance of Journeyman Lineworkers.

Participants complete a rigorous training path toward becoming Electric Lineworkers, performing duties safely and efficiently in overhead, underground, transmission, and distribution environments while advancing on-the-job skills.

Qualifications

• CDL A strongly desired.
• Experience or education in electric linework preferred.
• Willingness to participate in Apprentice Lineworker training program.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to the construction, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of high voltage electrical power systems.
• Assist Journeyman Lineworkers in operations including overhead and underground installations.
• Comply with safety standards and learn on-the-job skills to advance to Electric Lineworker.

Description

Team Fishel is hiring Apprentice Electric Lineworkers for our Henrico, VA operation. The purpose of an Apprentice Lineworker at Team Fishel is to participate and successfully complete a rigorous Journeyman Lineworker training program and develop on-the-job skills on the way to becoming an Electric Lineworker.

Apprentice Lineworkers will be able to competently and confidently perform in a highly skilled and safe manner all the duties associated with the construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage electrical power systems up to and including Transmission, Distribution, Overhead, and Underground.

Requirements

• Possessing a Class A Commercial Driver License strongly desired
• Previous experience or education in electric linework preferred
• Participate in the Apprentice Lineworker training program including after-hours studies
• Cut and clear brush at ground level
• Provide ground support for lineman operating in aerial bucket, on pole, trenches, or underground facility environment
• Operate heavy machinery involved with digging, setting, and tamping poles, pulling overhead and underground conductors, digging and back-filling trenches or other excavations and hurt man rescue by operating platform controls of aerial bucket
• Assemble & disassemble hardware for overhead & underground installations in a de-energized environment with instruction from Journeyman Lineworker
