Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking an Apprentice Baker to support bakery operations, learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, and help create delicious pastries for guests. The role emphasizes teamwork, customer service, and growth into leadership positions.

You will gain exposure to Clerk functions and Cake Decorator tasks with a focus on safety, quality, and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced retail bakery environment.

Qualifications

• 0 to 6 months experience required.
• Prior experience in Bakery or related industry preferred
• No High School diploma required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures when necessary.
• Prepare product and form product to specifications as required according to scratch recipes.
• Bake prepared product using appropriate time and temperature as specified by recipe.
• Properly insert products into proof box, set controls, and close door to ensure proper size and shape of product.
• Prepare and fry donuts according to established procedures.
• Accurately record special orders on Bakery products to ensure the customer is delighted with the finished product.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and helping them locate the products they are looking for.
