Job Summary

Our Apprentice Baker plays a vital role in ensuring our pastries are visually appealing and delicious. Alongside delivering exceptional guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful confections for our guests and contribute to the success of their celebrations. Key responsibilities include producing high-quality bakery items to meet customer expectations and building customer loyalty through outstanding service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Cake Decorator functions. It is suitable for someone with minimal or no retail decorating experience who is eager to support a team, grow into leadership, and inspire others. Creativity in cuisine, a passion for food trends, and a desire to connect with people are essential. Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in Bakery or related industry
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Perform bench work following established scratch procedures as needed.
• Prepare and shape products according to scratch recipes and specifications.
• Bake products using appropriate time and temperature settings.
• Insert products into proof boxes, set controls, and ensure proper size and shape.
• Prepare and fry donuts per established procedures.
• Store products in the freezer to maintain freshness.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques and offer samples when appropriate.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks to protect team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, helping locate products, answering questions, and making suggestions.
• Handle products and equipment following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and storage spaces to meet sanitation standards.
• Bake and display products, rotating stock and following code dating procedures.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understand ingredients and their roles in scratch baked goods.
• Gather baking ingredients and prepare for baking operations.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and maintaining bakery backroom, cooler, and freezer efficiency.
• Support other areas of the bakery department as needed.
