Our Apprentice Baker plays a crucial role in ensuring our pastries look and taste exceptional. Alongside providing outstanding guest service, you will assist in creating visually appealing and delicious baked goods that delight our guests and become the highlight of their celebrations. Key responsibilities include producing high-quality bakery products to meet customer expectations and building customer loyalty through excellent service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to learn all facets of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Cake Decorator functions. It is ideal for individuals with minimal or no retail decorating experience who are eager to develop their skills.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in Bakery or related industry
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures as needed.
• Prepare and shape products following recipes and specifications.
• Bake products using specified times and temperatures.
• Use proof boxes correctly to ensure proper size and shape of baked goods.
• Prepare and fry donuts according to established procedures.
• Manage freezer storage to preserve product freshness.
• Engage in suggestive selling and offer samples to customers when appropriate.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, assisting with product location, answering questions, and offering suggestions.
• Handle products and equipment safely, adhering to food safety and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and storage spaces to meet sanitation standards.
• Bake and rotate bakery products for display, following date and freshness protocols.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures diligently.
• Record special bakery orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understand ingredients and their roles in baking.
• Prepare baking ingredients and assemble recipes.
• Assist in unloading and organizing bakery deliveries.
• Support other areas of the bakery as needed.
