Job summary

GTG Training Limited is recruiting an Apprentice Autocare Technician to work in an independent garage. This Modern Apprenticeship Programme lets you work full time and earn while you learn, with block-release weeks for training and regular assessments in the workplace.

You will learn servicing, MOT preparation, dismantling and reassembly of components, and electrical fault diagnostics under mentor guidance. A practical, safety-minded approach is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths, English and a Science or Technical subject or equivalent
• Keen to start a career in automotive industry
• Dedicated and proactive attitude to work and learning
• Able to prioritise and work to timelines
• Full UK Driving licence is not essential but preferred

Responsibilities

• Learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including servicing and MOT preparation
• Diagnose and rectify engine, chassis and electrical faults
• Work with mentors from GTG and the apprentice's workplace to complete the apprenticeship
• Attend block release training weeks at GTG Wolverhampton for Level 2 Autocare Technician or Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician
• Maintain health and safety and contribute to good housekeeping

GTG Training are recruiting for an ApprenticeAutocare Technicianon behalf of an independent garage.This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry.

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time andearn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

As well as attending the training centre for week block release of training, regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.

Examples of the units covered are:

• Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
• Inspection of light vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
• Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines andcomponentfaults
• Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Contributing to workplace good housekeeping

What will I learn?

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice’s workplace, which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

Youwill train through GTGWolverhampton, by attending block release training weeks,toLevel2 Autocare Technician or Level 3MotorVehicleService andMaintenanceTechnician.

What qualifications or qualities arerequired?
