Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle, WA is seeking an Applied Scientist to advance personalization using information retrieval, NLP, LLMs, and fine-tuning models. You will work with large datasets and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product partners to build scalable ML solutions for customers.

You will design experiments, develop new AI technologies, and translate research into features and systems that improve recommendations and user experience for millions of shoppers.

Qualifications

• PhD or master's degree with 4+ years CS/CE/ML experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languages.
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, or HPC.
• Experience designing experiments and statistical analysis of results.
• Experience with patents or publications at top-tier conferences or journals.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop AI technologies for personalization.
• Invent or adapt ML techniques for recommendations and LLMs.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product partners.
• Mentor junior members and drive feature launches.
