Job summary

Amazon seeks an Applied Scientist to advance LLM, AI, NLP, and recommender systems for context-aware conversations. You will build scalable models, leverage heterogeneous data, and push the envelope in Generative AI with LLMs and human feedback.

The role requires strong ML fundamentals, hands-on implementation, and the ability to ship and iterate rapidly to improve customer experiences. Seattle, WA location with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business application experience.
• PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing, HPC.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other applied scientists and engineers to research and develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques.
• Analyze, understand and improve user experiences using heterogeneous data and large-scale computing resources.
• Work on core LLM technologies, including Prompt Engineering, Supervised Fine-Tuning and Human Feedback.
• Deliver impact through novel products and services for customers.
