Job summary

Amazon seeks an Applied Scientist to join the IRR Science team within SCOT Inbound Systems. You will design optimization and ML solutions for inventory routing, replenishment, and network design at Amazon scale.

You will prototype in Java/Python, collaborate with software teams, publish results, and influence long-term roadmaps while mentoring colleagues and contributing to deployment strategies.

Qualifications

• PhD in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or equivalent.
• Experience programming with Java, C++, or C# including OO design.
• Experience applying theoretical models in practice.
• Experience with optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing, or HC.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop optimization and ML solutions for inventory routing, replenishment, and network design.
• Develop both exact and heuristic methods for decision support tools.
• Prototype, simulate, and deploy models in Java/Python with production collaboration.
• Write well-tested production code and assist in maintenance of scientific software.
