Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Applied Scientist for the AWS Security Customer Outcomes Team to design, build, and operate AI-powered security solutions across the open source software lifecycle.

You will develop intelligent automation, improve security controls, and deliver data-driven insights to AWS leadership while collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to open source research.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier venues.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build AI-powered security applications and tooling using LLMs.
• Transform manual processes into high-volume, machine-speed pipelines.
• Define and maintain SLAs, monitoring, and incident response for services you own.
• Lead technical design and communicate trade-offs across teams.
• Study and apply ML/DL research to security problems and productionize models.
