Job summary

Amazon Prime Air is seeking an Applied Scientist to develop and verify drone systems models and flight physics models that inform aircraft design, verification, and business decisions. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of simulations, train models, and verify accuracy to support scalable, real-world delivery solutions.

The role requires building robust simulation capabilities, understanding vehicle aerodynamics and GNS sensors, and applying uncertainty analyses to validate model fidelity

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years in STEM fields.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with flight vehicle simulation development, aircraft system identification or simulation V&V.
• Solid understanding of software design principles.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of simulation models—from development and deployment through verification and ongoing maintenance.
• Gather downstream customer needs, select modeling approach and level of fidelity.
• Coordinate the generation of input data for models.
• Model training, development and maintenance of software interfaces, and verification of model accuracy.
