Job summary

Amazon is seeking an engineer for the Prime Air team in Seattle to rapidly configure, design, analyze, prototype, and test innovative drone vehicles. You will develop, improve, and maintain multi-disciplinary optimization tools across aircraft disciplines and prototype designs for wind tunnel and related testing.

You will work with the Chief Program Engineer and cross-functional teams to ensure integrated, performance-driven solutions that meet cost and manufacturability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics and 7+ years experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of programming languages: C/C++, Python, Java or Perl.
• Experience with flight vehicle design, simulation, and development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and maintain a suite of multi-disciplinary optimization (MDO) tools across aircraft design disciplines.
• Prototype vehicle designs and support wind tunnel and other testing.
• Work closely with vehicle subsystem teams to ensure integrated designs that meet performance, reliability, operability, manufacturing, and cost requirements.
