Job summary

Amazon Advertising is one of Amazon's fastest growing and most profitable businesses, responsible for defining and delivering a collection of advertising products that drive discovery and sales.

The Bidding Experimentation and Science Team builds production algorithms for real-time pricing, ranking, and experimentation, shaping bid decisions for opportunities and enabling rapid iteration across the system.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD or MS with 4+ years in CS, CE, ML or related field.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.

Responsibilities

• Work with ML scientists and engineers to apply data science and ML to advertiser needs.
• Be a technical leader in ML, optimization, and causal inference and drive full life-cycle projects.
• Build ML models, run proofs-of-concept, experiment, optimize, and deploy to production.
• Develop algorithms for online optimization, bandits, reinforcement learning.
• Design and run A/B experiments, gather data, perform statistical analysis.
• Establish scalable automated monitoring and feedback processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers to productionize work.
• Research new ML and optimization approaches.
• Recruit and mentor scientists on the team.
