Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Applied Science Manager to lead the Marketplace Intelligence Interleaving team in Seattle. You will own experimentation systems, models, and online serving infrastructure to personalize and optimize SP ad allocation on the search page, with a focus on real-time LLM and ML deployment.

You will build cross-functional partnerships, drive a data-driven product strategy, and mentor scientists and ML engineers to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions for advertisers and shoppers

Qualifications

• 4+ years of applied research experience.
• 3+ years of management experience for scientists or ML engineers.
• 3+ years of building ML models for business applications.
• PhD, or MS with 6+ years of applied research.
• Knowledge of ML, NLP, Information Retrieval and Analytics.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of scientists and engineers to build scalable ML solutions.
• Develop vision for contextualizing SP ads in Amazon search.
• Define data-driven product metrics to evaluate shopper impact.
• Tackle complex science and business problems balancing advertisers, shoppers, and Amazon.
• Own long-term investments for ads and retail growth.
• Develop real-time LLM and ML algorithms for ad allocation at scale.
• Create multi-objective optimization and AI control methods for the ad marketplace.
• Grow ML/AI talent across Advertising.
