Job summary

Amazon Advertising is hiring an Applied Scientist II to advance ML-driven pricing and ranking in our RTB system. You will prototype, validate, and productionize algorithms, and collaborate with engineers, scientists, and product teams to move experiments into scalable services.

You will lead experiments, analyze results, and mentor junior team members while contributing to research papers and joining internal science events.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master's with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing.

Responsibilities

• Lead ML, optimization, and causal inference projects across teams.
• Build ML models and deploy to production.
• Develop online optimization, bandits, and RL algorithms.
• Design and run A/B experiments and analyze results.
• Establish scalable monitoring and feedback processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers to productionize work.
• Research new ML and optimization approaches.
• Mentor scientists on the team.
