Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks a Project Manager for Applied Research at the Pickle Research Campus. You will interface with government sponsors and Principal Investigators to ensure sponsor satisfaction and oversee technical and business execution of programs.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, math, physics, or related fields, 5+ years of government-sponsored PM/R&D experience, and PMP or DoD certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, math, physics, or related fields.
• Five or more years project management experience with Government sponsored technical/scientific R&D or system acquisitions.
• Project Management Professional, Defense Acquisition University Project Management, or DoD branch specific project management or system acquisition certification.
• Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project.
• Proactive and highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and confidential information.
• Must communicate effectively and work with minimal daily supervision.

Responsibilities

• Interface with Government sponsors and Principal Investigators to ensure sponsor satisfaction.
• Facilitate investigation of new technical concepts and prepare budget/proposals for Government-sponsored R&D.
• Establish and maintain project goals and priorities to meet sponsor expectations and mission requirements.
• Provide staff supervision, training needs analysis, and assist in hiring processes.
• Continuously manage project budget, schedule, and resources for timely execution.
• Other related functions as assigned.
