Job summary

SentiLink is hiring an Applied ML Scientist to build models that identify fraudsters and advance our risk products. This role welcomes new PhD graduates or early-career researchers who want to apply ML to real-world fraud detection in a production environment.

You’ll ship end-to-end ML solutions, learn across the full lifecycle, and contribute to multiple teams across the company. Remote options exist within the U.S. with preferred Austin/NYC/San Francisco offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Statistics, CS, Physics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field or equivalent experience/research.
• Strong foundation in machine learning, statistics, or applied data science.
• Experience with Python and common data science tools through coursework, research, internships, or personal projects.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and build data-driven solutions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fraud detection models through full model lifecycle from data acquisition to deployment.
• Build foundational modeling to drive expanding Fraud and Financial Risk products.
• Research new fraud types and develop related SentiLink products around identity verification.
• Iterate, integrate new data sources, and engineer features for better insights.
• Write production-ready code for real-time decision making by partners.
• Design and present analyses informing data acquisition, product development, risk operations, marketing, and sales.
• Collaborate with engineering, risk operations, and data acquisitions to access data and ensure quality.
