Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Member of Technical Staff, Applied ML to work directly with enterprise customers, designing and delivering advanced LLM solutions. You’ll train and customize models using Cohere’s foundation stack and CPT recipes, shaping next-gen models with scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong ML fundamentals and ability to frame complex problems as ML solutions.
• Fluency with Python and ML/LLM frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed training or inference pipelines.
• Understanding of LLM architectures, tuning techniques (CPT, post-training), and evaluation methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to meaningfully shape LLM performance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and delivery of custom LLM solutions for enterprise customers.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into ML problems with clear success criteria and evaluation methodologies.
• Build custom models using foundation model stack, CPT recipes, post-training pipelines, and data assets.
• Develop SOTA modeling techniques to enhance model performance for customer use-cases.
• Contribute improvements back to the foundation-model stack with new capabilities and evaluation frameworks.
• Work with customer-facing MLE team to identify high-value opportunities where LLMs unlock impact.
