Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Member of Technical Staff, Applied ML, to work with enterprise customers on pushing LLMs to their limits and delivering production-ready models. You will design custom solutions, leverage CPT recipes, and advance foundation-model capabilities.

You will lead technical design, mentor engineers, and collaborate across discovery, deployment, and post-deployment iteration, shaping the next generation of Cohere’s frontier models.

Qualifications

• Strong ML fundamentals and problem framing for ML solutions.
• Fluency with Python and core ML/LLM frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed pipelines.
• Understanding of LLM architectures and tuning techniques.
• Ability to shape LLM performance meaningfully.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of custom LLM solutions for enterprise customers.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into ML problems with clear success criteria.
• Build models using Cohere’s foundation stack, CPT recipes, and post-training workflows.
• Develop state-of-the-art modeling techniques to improve customer use-cases.
• Contribute improvements to the foundation-model stack and evaluation frameworks.
• Mentor engineers and drive alignment across teams.
