Job summary

Dragos, Inc. is seeking a Machine Learning Application Engineer to help bring ML-driven capabilities into our platform.

You will apply established ML techniques to ICS/OT security data and integrate outputs into data pipelines, working with AI and Data Engineers to ensure reliable, interpretable results. You’ll write clean Python or Rust, reason about data contracts, observability, and failure modes, and communicate model behavior clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in production ML/data pipelines.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with ability to reason about data at scale.
• Hands-on experience with clustering, classification and anomaly detection.
• Familiarity with scikit-learn and the Python ML ecosystem.
• Understanding of data pipelines, data contracts, observability and failure modes.
• Ability to assess whether a model's outputs are trustworthy for a use case.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Cybersecurity domain knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply clustering, classification, anomaly detection, and other ML techniques to cybersecurity data problems in the IC/OT domain.
• Integrate ML model outputs into existing data pipelines and product workflows, supporting batch and near-real-time processing.
• Understand model behavior and translate research outputs into reliable pipeline components.
• Work with Data Engineers to ensure ML-driven stages have data contracts, observability, and sane failure modes.
• Evaluate open-source/third-party models for fit against use cases.
• Write clean, maintainable Python or Rust code for other engineers.
• Troubleshoot ML components in production to diagnose issues with output quality or data drift.
• Communicate model behavior clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
