Job summary

Cognizant in Mason, Ohio is seeking an Applied Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions that solve business challenges and drive measurable outcomes. You will collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready models and generate actionable insights at scale.

This onsite role requires 5 days per week in the client or Cognizant office in Mason, Ohio, and offers exposure to generative AI, MLops, and cloud-based deployments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering business-focused AI/ML solutions.
• Strong Python or R skills with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TF, PyTorch).
• Solid statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data mining knowledge.
• Experience deploying ML solutions in production environments.
• Ability to translate business problems into actionable data science outcomes and communicate to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand challenges and identify AI opportunities.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model experiments.
• Design, test, and deploy ML models addressing business needs and decisions.
• Research and prototype emerging AI tech, including generative AI and LLMs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to monitor, optimize, and maintain production ML solutions.
