Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Applied Researcher in AI Foundations to collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers and product managers to deliver AI-powered products that transform how customers interact with their money. You will work with a broad stack including PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, Lightning, VectorDBs, and more to reveal insights hidden within large datasets.

Build foundation models, engage in applied research, and translate technical work into business

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with 2 years applied research required by start date.
• Experience building and evaluating AI foundation models.
• Publications in ML/NLP; open research contributions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products.
• Leverage PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, Lightning, VectorDBs to extract insights.
• Build AI foundation models from design through training, evaluation and deployment.
• Translate complex work into tangible business goals.
