Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Operations Engineer, Applied AI (Application Software) to partner with internal teams across programs, exploring platforms and designing AI-powered solutions using large language models. This hybrid role blends deep technical work with collaboration to deploy safe, scalable AI across products and infrastructure.

You'll work with Sales, Product, and Engineering to move from early exploration to successful implementation, building robust prototypes and guiding system design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or engineering required.
• 1+ years of experience in engineering or operations/process development.
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced environments.
• Experience coding and developing production-level applications.
• Experience shipping real-world AI applications using large language models.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal teams to uncover needs and design technical approaches matching goals.
• Serve as main technical contact, coordinating with teams for end-to-end delivery.
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concept apps showing integration with Spok/Grok.
• Advise on system architecture and support AI-powered application development.
• Stay current with evolving LLM tech, best practices, and tools in fast-moving environments.
