SpaceX is seeking an Operations Engineer, Applied AI (Application Software) to partner with internal teams and design strategies for integrating large language models into products and infrastructure. This hybrid role blends technical depth with interpersonal skills.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to build practical testing approaches and robust system designs that deliver meaningful AI-powered solutions while prioritizing safety and responsible deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM or engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering or operations/process development experience.
• Ability to code and develop production-level applications.
• Experience shipping real-world LLM-based applications.
• Familiarity with LLM techniques: prompts, agents, retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal teams to understand needs and design technical approaches.
• Act as main technical contact, coordinating with teams for strong outcomes.
• Build prototypes and proofs-of-concept to illustrate LLM integrations.
• Advise on system-on-system architecture and AI-powered applications.
• Stay current with evolving LLM tech and best practices.
