Job summary

SpaceX seeks an Operations Engineer, Applied AI, to partner with Sales, Product and Engineering in exploring and deploying AI-powered solutions. You will design robust testing, build production-level applications, and ensure safe, scalable deployment of LLM-based capabilities across programs.

The role blends deep engineering with strong collaboration, requiring the ability to ship with speed while maintaining safety and governance. On-site work at Hawthorne is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in engineering or operations/process development.
• Experience shipping real-world apps using large language models.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal teams to uncover needs and design technical approaches aligning with goals.
• Serve as main technical point of contact, supporting end-to-end while coordinating with teams.
• Build prototypes and PoC apps illustrating integration with Spok/Grok.
• Advise on system-on-system architecture and support LLM-powered apps.
• Stay current with evolving LLM tech and best practices.
