Job summary

Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence and seeks engineers to develop AI agents that transform electrical and mechanical designs into verified, manufacturable outputs. You will create CAD models, schematics, PCB layouts, run simulations, and iterate with engineers to push design autonomy.

You will contribute across chips, boards, racks, and cooling systems, with an in-office compute setup and a strong focus on translating simulation data into real-world hardware improvements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and shipping AI tooling and agents.
• Strong software engineering skills, especially in Python.
• Experience with integrating with complex engineering tools and workflows.
• Knowledge of design processes across electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing domains.
• Familiarity with evaluating AI systems and learning from failures.

Responsibilities

• Build AI systems that turn engineering requirements into verified designs.
• Create agents to operate CAD, EDA, and simulation tools.
• Develop workflows for schematic capture, PCB layout, and mechanical CAD.
• Integrate tools and representations for geometry, materials, and tolerances.
• Design evaluation methods for manufacturability and performance.
• Ship agent-generated designs to manufacturing teams and measure improvements.
